The Mercedes Tigers boys varsity basketball team fell to the Harlingen South Hawks by a final score of 63–43 on Friday, December 19, 2025.
The Tigers worked to stay competitive throughout the game, showing effort on both ends of the court, but the Hawks’ consistent scoring and defensive pressure proved to be the difference. With the loss, Mercedes moves to 8–10 on the season as the team continues to gain experience and prepare for district play.
The Tigers will look to regroup and return to action on Tuesday, December 23, when they face the Donna North Chiefs at Mercedes High School, with tip-off scheduled for 6:00 PM.
